Homestay English Tutoring Program in France

Open to Canadians aged 18-35.Some knowledge of French required (A2-B1).

Program Cost

€640 – €840 including accommodation and meals

Live with a French family and teach English while experiencing life in France

This cultural exchange program allows participants to live with a host family in France and help them practice English for about 15 hours per week. In return, participants receive free accommodation and meals, making it a low-cost way to experience French culture and improve language skills.

What You’ll Do

Participants support the host family with English conversation and learning, typically with children but sometimes adults. Activities may include:

  • Casual conversations in English
  • Helping with homework or exam preparation
  • Playing games or doing activities with children in English
  • Sharing meals and cultural exchange

Teaching can be formal or informal, depending on the family’s needs.

Eligibility

This program is for you if you:

  • Are a native English speaker
  • Have completed high school
  • Are open-minded, flexible, and willing to adapt
  • Have basic knowledge of French (not suitable for complete beginners)
  • Have teaching experience (recommended but not required).
