Homestay English Tutoring Program in France
Live with a French family and teach English while experiencing life in France
This cultural exchange program allows participants to live with a host family in France and help them practice English for about 15 hours per week. In return, participants receive free accommodation and meals, making it a low-cost way to experience French culture and improve language skills.
Program Overview
Location
- Placements available across France (mostly in villages or near towns)
- Occasional placements in French overseas territories may also be possible.
Duration
- 1–3 months (typically 4–12 weeks)
- Available year-round
- Summer placements are often shorter (around 1 month).
Program Fee
- €640 – 4 weeks
- €740 – 8 weeks
- €840 – 12 weeks
What You’ll Do
Participants support the host family with English conversation and learning, typically with children but sometimes adults. Activities may include:
- Casual conversations in English
- Helping with homework or exam preparation
- Playing games or doing activities with children in English
- Sharing meals and cultural exchange
Teaching can be formal or informal, depending on the family’s needs.

Eligibility
This program is for you if you:
- Are a native English speaker
- Have completed high school
- Are open-minded, flexible, and willing to adapt
- Have basic knowledge of French (not suitable for complete beginners)
- Have teaching experience (recommended but not required).
