Program Highlights
Language assistants in France are assigned to primary or secondary schools. The assistant’s role is to improve the communication skills of the students, particularly in oral expression, and to deepen their knowledge of a different culture.
Foreign language assistants generally support the school’s foreign language teachers. They can work with the whole class in the presence of the teacher or with small groups of students.
- 7-month contract in schools across France
- Monthly salary: approx. €1,010 gross (€800-813 net)
- Housing not provided; participants are to secure their own housing
- Pre-departure guidance in Canada, orientation upon arrival


Requirements
- Candidates must be between 20 and 35 years old on the start date of the program.
- Completion of secondary school as well as higher education in Canada.
- Enrolled with good standing at a university at the time of application.
- Completion of at least 2 years of higher education in the same programme at the time of submitting the application.
- Good knowledge of the French language (B1 on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
