Program Highlights
As a Bilingual Guide at the Juno Beach Centre, you’ll deliver guided tours in English and French, welcome international visitors, and take part in the museum’s cultural and educational activities.
This position is ideal for dynamic, motivated Canadian youth who want to represent their country abroad while gaining valuable work and intercultural experience. Must be bilingual in English and French (no exceptions).
- Contract length: 6–8 months (varies by intake period)
- Location: Courseulles-sur-Mer, Normandy, France
- Work hours: Approximately 35 hours per week
- Pre-departure guidance in Canada, orientation upon arrival


Requirements
- Bilingualism: Ability to communicate fluently in English and French
- Education: University student or recent graduate (within 3 years)
- Experience: Previous work with the public, in education, tourism, or customer service (asset)
- Knowledge of Canadian history and the country’s contribution during WWII (asset)
- Team-oriented, professional, and adaptable in a multicultural environment
- Eligible for a Working Holiday Visa for France
Responsibilities
- Conduct guided tours of the museum and Juno Beach site in both official languages
- Adapt presentations to diverse audiences (school groups, veterans, general public, dignitaries)
- Welcome visitors from around the world and represent Canada’s identity and mission
- Present museum exhibits and educational activities to individuals and groups
- Lead workshops for school groups using the “Explore Juno” digital resources
- Support the museum boutique and assist with admissions and visitor services
- Participate in commemorative ceremonies and cultural events organized by the Centre


Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly salary: Approx. €1,552 (net)
- Housing: Provided by the Juno Beach Centre (utilities included, except internet and deposit)
- Travel reimbursement: Up to CAD 1,500 upon contract completion (with proof of expenses)
